The Haflinger Horse...

The breed origin can be traced to medieval times when writings told of an Oriental breed of horse found in the Southern Tyrolean Mountains of present day Austria and northern Italy.

The first official documentation of the present day Haflinger, named for the Tyrolean Village of Hafling, was in 1874.

The Haflinger is a smaller horse that is versatile for both riding and driving. They have a strong constitution, sold conformation and an uncomplicated personality. The golden chestnut coloring with a long flowing flaxen mane and tail is unique to the Haflingers. They are people-loving and have a willing and forgiving temperament, thus making them ideal for all family members.

Haflinger horses are found all over the world and hold their own in competition with other breeds, showing a surprising athleticism and strength for their size.
